Surrogate Requirements and Compensation

What to expect…

Commitment and well being. Before pregnancy, a surrogate must sign legal documentation, receive a full medical and psychological evaluation, undergo drug testing, start a medication regimen (including 16 weeks of shots), and attend least 8 fertility appointments. The full surrogacy process can take from fifteen months to two years, so it is important that you are at a place in your life where you can meet these expectations.

Matching. Each surrogacy relationship looks different. In order to match surrogates with intended parents in the best possible pairing, a detailed questionnaire is answered by both parties and a match is made with the desired relationship in mind. Sometimes the intended parents want to be very close to the surrogate and attend every doctor's appointment. Other times, both parties wish to remain separate and have limited contact. Finding the right match for you and your intended parents is key and we take great care in ensuring that this match is one that will meet the expectations of all involved.

It takes a village. Surrogacy is a hugely rewarding process that involves not only you and your body, but also your partner and your children. Discussing surrogacy with your partner is an important part of the process, and may be a bit complicated at first. We are here to support you in navigating these discussions; answering any questions and addressing any thoughts, ideas, and concerns that may arise. Every adult who is a part of the process needs to be a willing participant, including your spouse or partner. It is only with their complete support does the process run smoothly. We are committed to working with you to make this possibility a reality for you and your family.
