Compensation and Bonus Structure
Surrogate Base Compensation:
- Surrogate Base Compensation: $60k-$150K (depending on experience)
- Surrogate Monthly Misc. Expense ($300/mo): ~$4,000
- Twins/Triplets: $6,000 / $12,000
Surrogate Bonus Fees: $8,000
- $500 at start of fertility medications
- $1,500 on the day of transfer
- $4,000 upon completion of psych/medical screening and legal contracts
- $1,000 housekeeping allowance
- $1,000 maternity allowance
Wellness Package
- Doula Services, Chiropractic Care, Prenatal Massage (not to exceed $4,000)
Invasive Procedures (Varies by Necessity)
- Dropped Cycle: $1,000
- Mock Cycle: $500
- Amniocentesis: $1,000
- Fetal Reduction / Termination / D&C / D&E: $2,500
- Hysteroscopy (after initial screening): $250
- Caesarian Section: $5,000
- Loss of Ovary/Tube: $2,500
- Hysterectomy: $5,000
- Bed Rest: $450/week
Gestational Carrier Agreement Agency Policies
- Maternity clothing allowance is dispersed at 12 weeks gestation.
- Initial funding of $125,000 (singleton) or $175,000 (twins) is required at legal signing.
- IPs must maintain a minimum escrow balance of $20,000.
- International IPs must fund escrow with an additional $25,000 at signing.
- $4,000 legal signing bonus to be returned if the surrogate refuses at least one transfer.
- Psychological records are only shared with the agency and IVF clinic, not IPs.
- IPs will pay up to 14 days of lost wages for the surrogate’s partner or support person.
- IPs cover all costs associated with pumping breast milk and compensate the surrogate $400 weekly.
- IPs must purchase a life insurance policy of no less than $500,000 for the surrogate.
- Surrogate compensation vests at 30 weeks and is paid in full within 14 days of delivery.
- Payments are mailed no later than the 1st of the month.
- Base compensation is paid equally over 8 months following confirmation of fetal heartbeat.
- Bed rest is compensated at $450/week plus lost wages.
- Up to $3,000 in psychological counseling is covered without prior approval.
- Lost wages are paid for any surrogate-related medical absences.
- Multiples compensation begins at 16 weeks if detected via ultrasound.
- If the surrogate lives over 50 miles from the IVF clinic, she may use a local monitoring clinic.
- If a wait longer than 60 days occurs (not due to surrogate), IPs pay a $1,000/month hold fee.
